Coloration of room sound by reflections
Article Abstract:
Reflections are sounds which do not arrive at the ear directly from a loudspeaker, but from an object off which a given sound wave has bounced. The effects of reflections, which are measured as level, delay, and angle of incidence, are important considerations to audiophiles.

Low frequency sounds are subject to listening room wave effects, and loudspeaker placement directly affects the realization of these effects. The acoustics of sounds under 300 Hz are examined, with emphasis on axial, tangential, and oblique resonance modes.
