A battle in the sky: Montreal's Canadair takes aim at a competitor

Canadair ran a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal on Sep 19, 1995, comparing its Global Express jet to its major competitor's model Gulfstream Aerospace Corp's Gulfstream V. Gulfstream retaliated with a similar ad touting the advantages of its model. They each cost around $40 million.

Decreasing supplies of used cars and growing consumer demand are pushing up prices. An increasing number of Canadians have been opting for used cars over new ones since the recession that began in 1990. Government safety and pollution standards are also raising prices.
