The power struggle between the ANC and Inkatha troops resulted in the assassination of ANC leader Reggie Hadebe and was the cause of more than 2,700 deaths in 1992. Nelson Mandela said his supporters should share responsibility, but ANC rejected meetings with the enemy faction.
