Barcelona, Spain has spend $9 billion on renovations in order to get ready to host the 1992 Summer Olympics. Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia, an area that maintains a distinct identity apart from the rest of Spain. Its citizens even speak Catalan, a language different from Spanish.
