A cry of protest: rising tuition fees stir campus discontent

Students are protesting tuition fee increases at colleges and universities across Canada. Although tuition has been hiked annually since the mid-1980s, tuition increases have been approved for the 1993-1994 school year at many schools to compensate for government operating grants that have been frozen.

Carter the carpenter
Article Abstract:
Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, worked with 1,100 other volunteers to assemble 40 houses for low-income people in Waterloo, Ontario. The low-cost housing project was funded by Habitat for Humanity International organization. The Carters devote much of their time to humanitarian efforts.
