The European UnionEs (EU) diplomatic intervention in Ukraine to ensure fair elections has exposed new fault lines in the relations between older members of the Union, such as France, Italy and Germany, and the newer ones like Poland and Lithuania. The rift between Old and New Europe, and its possible repercussions, are discussed in light of UkraineEs Orange Revolution.
