Airline employees hope Onex bid will end woes

The proposal by Onex Corp top acquire and merge Air Canada and Canadian Airlines International Ltd has been welcomed by Canadian Airlines employeess as possible solution to the carrier's financial woes. The employees have been forced to take salary cuts just to keep Canadian Airlines in operation. The workers have given up a total of C$300 milion in concessions for a company that is estimated to be worth just C$80 million and heavy with a C$1-billion debt.
