US Airways not near bankruptcy after all

US Airways is still financially strong and has not considered bankruptcy reorganization after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, said Chairman Stephen Wolf. The air carrier wants to avoid seeking federal loan guarantees as part of the government's $15 billion bailout package for the airlines.

US Airways may sue United, blaming it for deal's failure

US Airways is considering a possible breach-of-contract lawsuit against United claiming that United failed to push the merger deal with regulators. United never met with regulators who disallowed the merger.
