The fashion runways are jammed with ideas from the 1960s and '70s, indicating that the baby boomers era still influence the fashion of 21st century. Like postmodern art or pop music, the popular designers regularly scavenge the 1960s, '70s and '80s for their collections, sampling and remixing like record producers.

Issues concerning the artistic style and career achievements of architect Ludwig Mies are discussed. Particular attention is given to his 1951 pavilion structured as one large glass room. The architects' fondness of glass in other of his works is emphasized.
