Analysts: 3Com can hold its own
Article Abstract:
3Com, a networking company, is poised to become a strong and independent company in the nearby future despite speculations that it is being targeted by chip giant, Intel, for acquisition. The company has faced a major blow from falling prices, the Asian economic crisis and problems in combining its newly acquired firm, modem maker US Robotics. Analysts and company executives, however, remain optimistic on the company's performance. They believe that 3Com should take advantage of the opportunities presented by the booming high-speed data service as well as the surging demand for combined data and voice transmission.
