Painter Arthur Boyd died in his hometown of Melbourne, Australia in Apr, 1999, at the age of 78. Boyd will be remembered for work that conveyed the dark elements of the human soul through his Nebuchadnezzar paintings, which are said to have been inspired by the horrors of the Vietnam War and the harsh light of the Australian landscape. His legacy is one of peace and generosity of spirit.
