Canadians in Ottawa and western Quebec in Jan 1992, received inoculations to prevent meningococcal infections. The disease has killed at least 13 Canadians between early Dec 1991, and Jan 1992. The vaccination program was the largest since the polio epidemics of the 1950s.

A new exhibition traveling Canada features the work of a group of Canadian artists know as the Group of Seven. The Group painted in the 1920s and strove to identify Canadian nationalism in their art. The artwork of the seven represents a variety of modern styles.
