Aw, shucks
Article Abstract:
The QX parasite has infected the Hawkesbury River growing area near Sydney, thereby destroying the local industry of oyster farming. The cause of the Hawkesbury outbreak is not known, though it is suggested that some sort of intermediate host, the aquatic equivalent of malaria mosquitoes, may be the reason for the depletion of the Sydney rock oyster stocks.
