The Bata Shoe Museum, which opened to the public on May 6, 1995, houses an impressive array of some 10,000 articles of footwear. Founder Sonja Bata has assembled a fascinating collection of shoes from diverse cultures, including ancient Egypt and China. The museum also has a celebrity shoe collection.
