'Blaze' fires controversial top editor
Article Abstract:
Miller Publishing Company Inc has fired the editor of its hip-hop magazine Blaze because of his support for Montoun Hart, the man acquitted in the murder of the son of Time Warner Chairman Gerald Levin. Jesse Washington reportedly wrote an editorial for an upcoming issue in support of Hart, which was later pulled out by the publisher out of respect for the elder Levin who was one of the founders of the magazine that spawned Blaze. Miller has named Mimi Valdes, incumbent managing editor of Blaze, to temporarily replace Washington's vacated position.
