Disney clicks with Internet toy store
Article Abstract:
Walt Disney Co Buena Vista Internet Group is investing a majority stake in Toysmart.com, an Internet retailer of educational toys. The Disney unit is injecting $45 million in cash investment and promotions for the small retailer, which needs the money to create a niche in the market. Jupiter Communications analyst Michael May does not see early signs of synergies in the acquisition and Ursula Moran of Sanford C Bernstein added that competition is set to be significantly strong especially in the online toy market.

Microsoft's MSN is not yet major player in portal world
Article Abstract:
Microsoft Corp's MSN.com portal site has not measured up to the success being enjoyed by other Internet businesses such as America Online, Yahoo and Amazon. Its failure to be the cutting-edge leader of Internet portal space is because it is not media company and because it regards technology as an end in itself and not a tool. As a result, an analyst said that Microsoft has not been able to generate an audience equal to its market share.
