Bombardier stock hits turbulence
Article Abstract:
Bombardier Inc.'s stock price fluctuated on May 19, 1998, due to Fairchild Dornier USA's announcement that it intended to manufacture a series of regional jets, which will directly compete with those of Bombardier. Bombardier's class B shares eventually ended up at C$38 on the Toronto Stock Exchange, lower by 50 cents from the previous closing on a volume of 1.5 million shares. The lowest level at trading was at C$36.75. The company's stock has been at the C$38 area for the past weeks. The stock was only able to climb up again when analysts and investors made a stricter scrutiny of the Fairchild report.
