The French luxury conglomerate LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton has been trying to acquire Gucci since early 1999, but Gucci didn't like the management methods of LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault. In Mar, 1999, Gucci CEO Dominique De Sole found a French company to invest $2.9 mil to form Gucci Group. Arnault responded with a takeover bid and took Gucci to court to annul the agreement and replace their board.

Danish director, Lars Von Trier's latest film 'Dogville' starring Nicole Kidman that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival is reported. Betrayal is a consistent theme with Lars Von Trier as he was betrayed in his personal life, he felt betrayed at not getting the Palme d'Or award for his trilogy of feature-length films and his latest film was shut out at the awards ceremony of Cannes.
