CIBC wins battle for Merrill's brokers

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce acquires Merrill Lynch advisors. The much sought after Canadian retail brokerage arm of Merrill Lynch and its 1,000 brokers went for $600 million but will bring the bank up to $50 million in new customer assets.
