The two NBA expansion teams should raise the growing Canadian interest in basketball to a fever pitch. However, the Grizzlies and Raptors are realistic about their immediate impact on NBA competition. The antitrust lawsuit filed by players against the league also casts a shadow.

'A great way to go out:' In their last Olympic pairing, Heddle and McBean row to a gold Medal
Article Abstract:
Heddle and McBean were exhausted, but elated when they finished their double-scull race and found out that they had won Olympic gold medals. Other Canadian rowers who won medals were single scullers Derek Porter and Silken Laumann, who each won a silver medal.

Birth of a continent: scientists unearth Canada's long history

More than 400 scientists and students have participated in the Lithoprobe project since its inception in 1984. The $50 million project has revealed much of the geological make-up of Canada. Analysis of the data recovered may take at least 10 years.
