The Canadian armed forces badly needs to replace its current fleet of Labrador search-and-rescue helicopters, but the contract selection process has been fraught with behind-the-scene politics. The defense Dept appears to favor Westland-Agusta's Cormorant, a scaled-down version of the EH-101 model.
