Research into the efficacy of cough medicines and herbal supplements is discussed. A study of cough medications found there was no firm evidence to support their use. A report on supplements to relieve period pain found scant evidence to prove they work.

The health risks of flying such as deep vein thrombosis were noticed in the 1980s, but ignored for a decade. Research has not yet established fully whether air travel causes greater risk and other forms of transportation could be as dangerous.
