Canadian Air scouring world for cash
Article Abstract:
Canadian Airlines International Ltd president and CEO Kevin Benson said the company so far has failed to conclude a transaction that would give it a much-needed cash infusion. The Calgary, Alberta-based carrier is in need of a C$500 million cash injection to stave off another crisis. Benson said he does not expect the company to go broke in the next year. Analysts, however, disagree, saying a projected loss for the 1999 first quarter will push the carrier to the brink.
