Technology adds a personal touch
Article Abstract:
Using new technologies is said to increase voters' sense of involvement in the political process. For example, using a toll-free number to get information from a candidate's campaign headquarters gives voters a sense of establishing a direct relationship with the candidate. Various technologies are functioning to supplement the 1992 campaign, and this year's innovations will probably be a part of all future political campaigns. Technologies mentioned and briefly discussed include the following: toll-free numbers; electronic databases and bulletin boards; satellite television; cable television; and videos.
