People think of chicken as the best form of poultry. It is fortunate that other kinds of poultry offer tasty meats for innovative recipes. These include lacquered squabs, glazed duck, and bakes hens and capons. Asian flavors enhance the taste with added garlic, soy sauce and ginger. Duck breasts only have to be pan-seared and sliced thinly before serving.

Cook it slow and easy in a crock-pot

Slow cookers, often called crock-pots, are electric appliances that allow foods to cook for several hours without supervision. Meat or poultry should always be defrosted before going into a slow cooker, and the cooker should be at least half full for successful cooking. Recipes for roast chicken, beef stew, barbecued pork and split pea soup are given.
