Double airline takeover considered

Onex Corp is looking into the possible acquisition of Canadian Airlines International Ltd and Air Canada to eventually merge the two companies into one entity. The consolidation plan will inevitably involve American Airlines, which controls 25% of Canadian Airlines. Meanwhile, Canadian Airlines and Air Canada will consider the best possible options, including Canadian's divestiture of routes to Air Canada, reduction of capacity on domestic routes, and a probable merger.

Biovail close to final deal for plant in Puerto Rico
Article Abstract:
Bioavail Corp International is about to complete negotiations for the acquisition of a major manufacturing facility in Puerto Rico. The plant's price is expected to be in the $15 million range and is intended to provide for Bioavail's production needs in the coming three to five years. Bioavail chmn Eugene Melnyk said his firm will require a production capacity of 2 billion pills in next three years.
