Europe gets serious
Article Abstract:
The United States since the end of World War II has championed the cause of greater unity in Europe. In Dec 1998, 11 European countries coordinated interest rates and France and Britain signed a major defense pact. Many believe this may be the start of a new superpower to match the US. However, others believe American leaders do not yet realize how this may impact American politics and economy.
