Inner turmoil rips apart leading day trading firm
Article Abstract:
Block Trading's decision to cease operations in Sep 1998 came as a result of a bitter dispute between the company's founders, Chris Block and Jeff Burke. Burke and Block, president and CEO, respectively, were formerly lauded for their role in popularizing day trading, a service that links people directly to the stock market via their PCs. Block Trading's fall from its meteoric beginnings offers a glimpse of the volatility of even the hottest new firms in a new market.
