Article Abstract:
This article describes efforts by many Australian companies and computer-users to recycle or reuse obsolete personal computers (PCs) as an alternative to stockpiling them or dumping them in landfills. Relevant points include the need to continually upgrade PCs, the record sales of new PCs, the rapid depreciation of PC systems, and other factors that generate large numbers of used computers that are now being recycled in innovative ways such as making them available for the disabled.
