Truck and auto prices will be flat for the second straight year, with strong domestic and foreign competition forcing US manufacturers and dealers to add features and provide buyer incentives. Industry leaders confidently predict a strong 1998-99 season nonetheless.

Northampton East, a small high school in North Carolina, has won three regional electric vehicle competitions. The project has taught the students problem solving and has motivated them to pursue higher education.
