Article Abstract:

Australian astronaut Andy Thomas was part of the crew on the Discovery space shuttle which returned to Earth August 2005, with all crew members safe despite a piece of insulating foam detaching itself from the external fuel tank. Thomas asked some worrying questions about the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA's) priorities and the future of the accident-plagued space shuttle program.

New wave

Article Abstract:

French surfers were short listed for the Billabong prize money, which is given to big wave surfers who surf the largest wave, leading to discontentment among the people. The French did not win the prize, but an eighteen-year-old prodigy from Hawaii won the prize for the biggest wave ride.

Surfing aces

Article Abstract:

Mark Philippoussis's talent, looks and lifestyles on the sports field is discussed. Further, on the court he had a preference for speed and adrenalin over patience and contemplation. Besides his interest in tennis, he is concentrating and diverting his career in surfing also.
