The teachers and administrators of the Plainfield Community Middle School in Plainfield, IN, believe that every student should be allowed to participate in nearly any activity they select. The school has implemented a no-cut policy for all activities except volleyball and basketball where space is limited.

Henry Nicols told PARADE magazine of his AIDS when he was only 17. This led to a national circuit of lecturing to young people about AIDS, meeting Pres Bush and Clinton, and national notoriety. At 21, he is still active after having had full AIDS for five years.
