Article Abstract:
IBM CEO Samuel J. Palmisano is hoping to usher the computer giant into a new era of service for its business customers. He understands why people like to compare him to former CEO Louis V. Gerstner Jr., but his style is more informal and relaxed. He is concerned about developing new business services enhanced by IBM technology and software. Part of that strategy was developed when IBM acquired PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, Rational Software and PwC Consulting. One major goal includes tailoring products to address pertinent and common problems encountered by 12 major industries.
