Actor, playwright, and comedian John Leguizamo was born in Colombia but grew up in a poor family in New York, N.Y. He has always had a desire to entertain, but felt he did not fit in through most of his childhood. After his parents divorced, he got into minor trouble but later took up acting on the advice of a math teacher. Acting gave him a goal and changed his life. He has appeared in more than 20 films.

Calista Flockhart, star of TV's 'Ally McBeal', struggled for many years trying to make it as an actress on Broadway. Her career took off in 1994 when she was cast in 'The Glass Menagerie' and won rave reviews. She feels lucky and does not count on future success, saying that if 'Ally' is cancelled, she will return to the stage.
