Intrawest pursues Mont Sainte-Anne
Article Abstract:
Intrawest Corp., the Vancouver, BC-based operator of the largest ski hill in Quebec, is in negotiations to buy a major stake at Mont Sainte-Anne, the second-biggest winter resort in Quebec owned by Club Resorts Inc. of Dallas, TX. Under the proposal, Intrawest is expected to take over responsibility of redeveloping Mont Sainte-Anne while Club Resorts, whose main line of business is developing and operating golf clubs, would focus on developing summer recreational endeavors for the site. Intrawest and Club Resorts is still negotiating terms involving ownership of the resort.

Videotron gets set to assault phone market

Montreal, Quebec-based Groupe Videotron Ltee. implements a streamlining initiative for its company structure in an effort to pursue its planned venture into the market for telephone services. The restructuring initiative of Groupe Videotron will reduce the number of operating units directly run by a holding company from the original seven units to three units. The three units that will be directly under a parent company are Dallas, TX-based OpTel Inc., Montreal, Quebec-based TVA Group Inc. and Videotron Communications Inc.
