Last bites for malaria
Article Abstract:
Australian scientist Geoff McFadden has developed an effective malaria vaccine that may be used to treat toxoplasmosis in AIDS patients. He discovered in 1996 that malaria parasites contain relict chloroplasts and could be vulnerable to a commercially sold herbicide. He developed a potent antibiotic that disrupts more than one enzyme reaction, ensuring the malaria parasite does not develop resistance.
