GTC Transcontinental Group Ltd of Montreal, Quebec, pursues growth through acquisitions, acquiring 11 companies in 1998 alone. While the strategy has helped the company post sterling revenue and profit growth, GTC Chairman and CEO Remi Marcoux says it could be difficult to buy that number of companies and keep the top management of those companies intact. Marcoux says it is important to retain top management because of their expertise and knowledge of the business.
