Legal marathon: a B.C. jury convicts 15 in an armed standoff

The summer 1995 Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) siege of a Native American campsite at Gustafson Lake in interior British Columbia ended with 39 acquittals and 21 convictions. The month-long siege ended in a non-fatal shootout. The natives contended RCMP racism and mistreatment.

841-KOZ is a key element of an anti-violence initiative began by British Columbia's ministry of attorney general. The group consists of eight young adults who use role playing, dramatic skits, and discussions to teach youths about the problems of gangs and violence.
