Microsoft's Web troubles fixed for now
Article Abstract:
Microsoft Corp has taken steps to ensure that no technical disruptions will occur again in its sites. The problems began on Jan 23, 2001, when Web surfers were prevented from accessing the Internet sites due to hackers who used fake traffic to shut down the sites. The software company's domain name servers were located on the same network which made them susceptible to an organized electronic strike. Microsoft has since taken steps to distribute the domain name servers so the problem does not occur again.
