Air Canada fires Royal as trustee
Article Abstract:
Air Canada has canceled its contract with Royal Trust because of Royal Bank of Canada's hand in Onex Corp's hostile takeover bid for the carrier. Royal Trust, the trust unit of Royal Bank of Canada, is the trustee for Air Canada's share ownership plan for its employees. While observers say the contract is not a major revenue source for Royal Trust, the cancellation is a major blow to Royal Trust's reputation.
