Nursing interventions and other factors associated with discharge disposition in older patients after hip fractures
Article Abstract:
An investigation was carried out to examine the features inclusive of nursing interventions, related to discharge destination of an patients aged 60 years and older admitted for treatment of fractured hip or an elative hip procedure using generalized estimating equations analysis. The recognition of the nursing interventions highlighted that those receiving regular nursing care returned home while those in need of interventions for complication or to prevent compilations were discharged to an institution.

Developing and testing Self-Care intervention for older adults in caregiving roles
Article Abstract:
The development of a theory-based intervention, Self-Care Talk and the process of evaluating the implementation of the intervention when it was pilot tested with older spouse caregivers of persons with dementia are described. The participants reported an increased awareness about self-care practices and offered specific examples of how they intended to practice better self-care.

Development and validation of a screen for specialized discharge planning services
Article Abstract:
A screen using hospital admission clinical data that discriminates between adults who use and do not use specialized discharge planning services, is developed and validated. The performance of the screen is equal in the validation sample as well as the development sample.
