Article Abstract:
Planning for OLYMPICS 2000 is discussed in humorous style. The Olympics of the year 2000 in Sydney, Australia, have inhabitants of Sydney asking whether the lessons of the Atlanta Olympics have been learned. The state government has sent 425 politicians and public servants to Atlanta to be sure that those lessons are well taken. Public transport was the source of discomfort for journalists in Atlanta. There were other discomforts for journalists, and that led to negative international opinion. These are to be avoided in Sydney by various means, most of which involve taxes on the populace.
