NSW: mixed blessings for Labor
Article Abstract:
The Labor government in New South Wales (NSW) is just barely getting through re-election according to a Morgan poll. Issues that are bringing heavy criticism range from crowded hospitals to land taxes. The poll could indicate that the dream of NSW Premier Bob Carr, privatizing the state's electricity industry to bring in some $20 bil, is not going to come to pass. Almost 2 of 3 NSW voters are opposed to privatization of electricity assets.
