PlanetOut, an online gay news service conducted a survey to rank the most gay-friendly U.S. colleges and universities which included Yale, Vassar, Smith and so on. Jay Barth, an open gay associate professor of politics at Hendrix College in Conway states that the gay and straight students live together in harmony and are viewed as an integral part of the community. Students at Yale University believe that the university offers a very high comfort level for homosexuals.

Gay athletes often encounter bias
Article Abstract:
Dwight Slater, former Stanford lineman and Andrea Zimbardi, University of Florida catcher, both college athletes describe the reactions from their coaches and teammates after their declaration as gays and state that people have to start accepting that gays and lesbians are everywhere and even in the athletic area. Law schools being forced to help military recruiters despite the Pentagons "don't ask, don't tell" policy on gays is also discussed.

More must earn while they learn
Article Abstract:
With increasing college tuition and declining college grants, more students are forced to earn income to pay for attending school. Some students are resorting to unorthodox means to pay their tuition. One problem for students is that part-time employment, especially on-campus jobs pay poorly.
