Outlook
Article Abstract:
The future scenario of college education costs is presented. Prospective college students should not count on the possibility that tuition will be lowered and thus would become affordable in the near future. The ailing economy will continue to force public colleges and universities to raise their tuitions to fill in the shortfall in state funding, while private colleges and universities will also experience fiscal pressures as they try to maintain higher standards to keep students from transferring to less expensive schools.

Outlook
Article Abstract:
Studies of the drug pricing situation reveal that market forces will likely succeed in bringing prices down. These market forces include the proliferation of generic drugs and the increase of third-party payments due to drug coverage. The latter has increased 'utilization review' programs in which insurers and doctors favor the less expensive drugs. Drug companies will be pressured to balance economy and therapy in this pricing policy. Drug companies are warned to heed the public outcry.
