Pactel and Cellular plan midwest venture

Pactel and Cellular plan to combine their Midwestern cellular phone holdings. The joint venture will cover 27,000 square miles and serve 15 million people. The companies will have equal shares in the joint venture, which has not yet had a value assigned to it. The contract is expected to close during the 2nd or 3rd qtr of 1991 if government and stockholder approval are obtained.
