Article Abstract:
South Korean President Kim Dae Jung agreed to lift the cultural ban on Japan during his October 1998 visit to Japan. The ban has been in place since South Korea's independence from Japanese colonizers in 1945. Movies, songs and CD's have been smuggled into the Korean market and popular movies have been dubbed.
