Patriot game
Article Abstract:
Australian tennis player Mark Philippoussis will not be playing on the Australian team in the 1998 Davis Cup. Philippoussis had refused to play in the first two rounds of the tournament, and captain John Newcombe dropped him for the entire year for being unwilling to make a total commitment. The opportunity to make higher fees at other tournaments has also motivated players in other countries to desert their teams.
