Vernon Jordan has publicly denied charges that he encouraged former White House intern Monica Lewinsky to lie about an alleged affair with Pres Clinton. Jordan is a powerful power broker in Washington DC and a trusted Clinton friend and adviser. Jordan was a civil rights leader before becoming a Washington lawyer, but his credibility as a black leader has been attacked.
