Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Ltd.'s Pavilion 8390 is a powerful multimedia personal computer that includes a 450-MHz Intel Pentium II, 128 magabytes of main memory, eight megabytes of video memory, a 10.2-gigabyte hard disk drive and a DVD player for CD-ROMs and DVD movies. The computer, priced at approximately C$3,999, also features color-coded cables for easy connection with a monitor, printer, telephone line and speakers, while usage is simplified through the help of a user-friendly multimedia keyboard.

Remote-control software gives you that at-home feeling

Remote-control software is an indispensable tool for many users of laptop computers. Remote-control programs allow laptop users to send and receive data to and from a remote personal computer. A remote-control software does not only allow the user to communicate, but also to actually view and access the contents of the remote PC using the laptop. Two remote-control softare, Traveling Software Inc's LapLink Professional and Symantec Corp's PC Anywhere 32, are reviewed.

Fuji digital camera features more pixels

Fuji Photo Film Company Ltd's MX-2700 digital camera offers a maximum of 1,800 by 1,200 image resolution, resulting from 2.1 million pixels. The digital camera's capability represents almost double the pixel resolution of the top digital cameras of a year and a half ago. Retailed at C$1,200, MX-2700 printouts are almost similar to those produced by 35-mm film cameras.
